Ice Age 3 in 3D, Afterthoughts

Sypnosis :

"When Sid's attempt to adopt three dinosaur eggs gets him abducted by their real mother to an underground lost world, his friends attempt to rescue him"

Warning, wall of text ahead.

Not really a fan of this series, Haven't even seen the first 2. Unfortunately I had to oblige to her request as the other alternative was Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince, which I've heard from several sources wasn't really that good.

First off, the movie wasn't really that enjoyable for me, maybe it's due to the fact that my sense of humor was different and sadistic. While this movie is ... how do I phrase this, disney-esque?
But my favorite character has to be Buck, which reminded me of the crocodile dundee (looked it up, yea it was based on him). Perhaps the only scenes of him were enjoyable to me. But hey, don't let me discourage you from watching it, I'm just not that into the recent animation movies by Pixar/Blue Sky/Etc. (I'd much prefer the old hallmark cartoons by Hannah-Barbera, now that's awesome as well as nostalgic. Top Cat / Droopy Dog anyone?)

Now let's talk about the 3D. Is it worth to pay an extra 6 dollars for the 3D goggles? I'd have to say no. It's rather gimmicky and only wow'ed me during the trailers and THX opening. Furthermore for a person who wears spectacles it can be rather uncomfortable over the course of the whole movie as I was adjusting the goggles thru the entire movie.

So yea, I would recommend just watching it on plain 2D rather than 3D if you had the choice. I'd give this a movie a 2 out of 5. Meh.
