Huawei 'Ascend To New Heights' & Hot Air Balloon @ Titiwangsa Lake


This is an event coverage of Huawei's 'Ascend To New Heights' which I did a pre-post about over here

The event was held over at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa from the 21st to the 23rd of December 2012. Which aims to bring more awareness to the public on Huawei's latest mobile smartphone lineups.

The highlight of the event, a hot-air balloon ride in the middle of the city at the scenic Tasik Titiwangsa.

Activities on site includes a Hot Air Balloon Ride, Jump shot Photography as well as interactive games like Trampoline Jump and A Racing Challenge, which puts you behind the wheel using Huawei s Mobile Device and a Smart TV as the display screen.

It was announced that there will be an all expense paid trip to Dubai to be won (Grand Prize consisting of 2 couples), an accomodation at a super 5-star luxury hotel, a helicopter tour of the city, an exclusive tour of the tallest building in the world - the Burj Khalifa, a Dubai Historial Tour and a Desert Experience.

Other prizes that can be won include over 2,000 prizes including Huawei Smartphones, Devices, T-Shirts, USB Drives and Movie Tickets.


There is also an experience zone which lets the public view and to test drive their latest smartphones.

During the speech, Huawei introduced their latest smartphones to the Malaysian market, which consists of three ranges of Android devices :

Ascend D1 Quad

- Fast Quad Core 1.4 Ghz Processor
- 4.5" Full HD screen display - 330 PPI Real life color
- 8MP AF camera with 1080P video recording
- Dolby 5.1 surround sound
- Global roaming with GPS and GLONASS

Retails at RM1239
The high end range of the 3 phones that were announced,this phone runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sunday build) and we were told that it will be upgradable to Jelly Bean. Runs on a blazing fast Quad Core 1.4Ghz Processor

Ascend P1

- Dual-core 1.5Ghz
- 4.3" qHD (960 x 540) Super AMOLED LCD Screen
- 1GB RAM
- 7.69mm Super Slim
- DLNA ready
- 8Mp AF LED flash
- Android 4.0 (ICS)

Retails at RM799
The mid range series that runs on a respectable 1.5Ghz Dual-core processor and a generous 1GB Random Access Memory bank. Not to mention a really thin profile due to it's 7.69mm thickness.

Ascend G330

- Dual-core 1Ghz
- 4.0 IPS LCD Screen
- 5.0MP rear camera
- Dual speakers with DTS surround sound

Retails at RM599
Though dubbed the lowest range of the series and marketed to the student market segment, the G330 carries a 1500 mAh battery capacity that brings roughly around 20-30 hours of battery life (dependant on usage) and with Huawei's chipset that promises perfect compatiblity with their network stations, this will ensure that maximum battery life is achieved.
